Wilfried von Rath
Wilfried von Rath was born in 1964 in Mülheim an der Ruhr and studied Psychology at Ruhr University in Bochum. In 1999, he completed an on-the-job MBA program at Ashridge Business School in the United Kingdom.
He began his subsequent professional career as an advisor and trainer for EU-financed projects in Eastern Europe. In 1991, he became a junior partner at the management consulting company System Management in Heiligenhaus.
In 1994, Wilfried von Rath joined Lufthansa Consulting in Cologne and became Human resources consulting manager. There he managed international consulting and training projects in organization development, change management, and service quality in Europe, the USA, South America, and Asia.
In 1998, he joined the Volkswagen Group as Head of Management Training and became a member of the Management Board of Volkswagen Coaching GmbH in 2002, which is active in the fields of professional and vocational training, continuing education, management development, and consulting.
Starting in 2006, he became Head of Group Personnel for Top Management at Volkswagen AG. In addition to managing personnel for the management board and top managers, he was responsible for global assignments, group management policies, and group talent management.
In 2011, he became Head of Human Resources at Volkswagen Slovakia in Bratislava with responsibility for personnel involved in the start-up of production for the "New Small Family" model line.
Since October 2013, Wilfried von Rath has been a member of the Executive Board of MAN Diesel & Turbo SE where he is responsible for Human Resources.
Wilfried von Rath is an honorary professor at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, is married, and the father of five children.
